  •  The next Cro-Magnons (7+ / 0-)

This sort of self-absorbed, totally lacking in of awareness of the worth of anyone besides themselves or their family members, just seems to characterize pretty much everyone on the right, be they male or female.

My suspicion is this it's rooted in some sort of neurologically based dysfunction. I'm totally serious aout that. You can often spot the internal 'crazy' showing externally through their eyes. Remeber, the eyes are a window to the soul. I believe that Right wingers represent a Darwinistic mis-step leading to an human evolutionary dead-end, much like the Cro-magnons.

Cro-Magnons were not a dead end.

Is that the message which struck you most, that I casually wrote Cro-Magnon rather than, say, Neanderthal? Would you have then agree with the actual point of the comment? Probably not, as you appear to readily miss the forest because of all those distracting trees.

to those of us that are lovers of anthropology the urge to correct misinformation is a constant presence. (Cro Magnon people being US, our species....Neaderthals being another species entirely)

I get why you feel as you do, though. It'd be nice to also have what your actual point is addressed as well.

    •  I think humans come in a range of temperments, (0+ / 0-)

student of the Myers Briggs as I am.

I think there are in fact temperments of humanity that are not good at crawling into other people's shoes.

Sometimes people are socialized to be thoughtful of others as a layer on top of nature. It's my belief that women are socialized more than men are to think of others. I wonder if more men are far right than women?

I do know that many more men than women voted for Scott Brown than for Elizabeth Warren (he won the male vote solidly, she the female by even more).
