There is NO NEED for you to flag your sarcastic remarks in order to make sure that some people don't misinterpret what you say.

It's really an impossible burden because when you post a comment, which is clear in context of thread and/or alone, how can you know when others will misinterpret?

I did not have any problem understanding your comment. Only one person used the phrase disgusting hold-over prior to you. It was clear you were responding to that comment.

What i do find interesting is that only 3 people responded to the original comment. If some in this thread are so offended and upset, why not respond to that comment? Why so many people raising this issue with you?

    •  As I said up thread, I had gotten a bit lost and (1+ / 0-)

confused over the original parent. I had a migraine this morning and was trying my very best. Unfortunately, I made a mistake which I admitted.

I don't think it is that strange (although it did lead to a few strange comments IMO).  I know that I read diaries that have more than a few comments from the bottom up, so in that case you get to the reply before the parent. In this case, the parent was several clicks up and it can be easy to miss, especially if it is a topic that you may feel passionate or emotional about.

Also, I think popular members here always tend to get more replies, and some of that may be based on past conversations or interactions. People in good standing seem to be held to a higher standard, whether that is good or bad is a matter of opinion I guess.
