    It might be interesting, next to the wage from 1973, to show the price of a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk in 1973, to show what that wage would actually buy for you.

      1.60  Equivalent minimum today would be 8.37

      Gas was .39/gal (equivalnet to 1.99 today),
      milk 1.31/gal (equivalent 6.63 today)

      In '74 min wage went up to $2, gas was at .54/gal  (equal to 2.75 today) because of the oil embargo.
