Over any GOP replacement. Its an R+6 district.  That district generally sends Blue Dogs to congress. As a district it produces teabaggers by the barrel.

Sometimes you have to hold your nose on a vote and this is one of those cases.

    •  Do you really think anyone who adamantly (3+ / 0-)

opposes a tiny hike to Minimum Wage is voting for any Democrat, even a Blue Dog, no matter how he votes on that issue?

He may well have to appeal to moderate Republicans to win.  Moderate Republican voters support this move.

income gains to the top 1% from 2009 to 2011 were 121% of all income increases. How did that happen? Incomes to the bottom 99% fell by 0.4%

voting for him as a candidate.

His vote against the minimum wage inc represents a vote to preserve slave wages for agricultural workers.

He is wrong on this issue but do you really want to replace him with a Michelle Bachmann clone?

        •  Why did he make the wrong vote? It didn't (0+ / 0-)

          benefit him politically.

        •  They'd rather have a half dozen Bachmann clones (1+ / 0-)

That way they can feel self-righteous and superior. While America suffers.

Part of Howard Dean's 50 state strategy was to run conservative candidates in conservative districts. It worked.

          •  It "worked", Charlie? The Minimum wage went up? (0+ / 0-)

We passed the EFCA?  We passed ENDA?

            •  Yes, Unlike now when we have few blue dogs (0+ / 0-)

when we had a lot of them, the minimum wage went up.

And that included a lot of Blue Dogs, almost all of whom have been replaced by Tea Partiers.

We need to flip 17 seats to get even a one vote majority to make Pelosi Speaker again -- and that assumes that we don't lose any seats at all. This will be quite difficult with the many gerrymanders that won't be able to be reversed for eight more years. We need every seat we can get.
