    But voting for a minimum wage increase is the last thing that is going to get a Democrat booted from a conservative district.

      better than anyone else. I can't claim to understand the detailed politics of any of these districts, but I do know that each representative has a very good finger on the pulse of the people he represents.

       There seem to be a lot of people commenting here who think they understand these members districts better than the members themselves. I would never presume that.

      I would also guess that if passage depended upon the vote of any of the six, Nancy Pelosi could've counted on them. And that's the point. I am never outraged by a representative casting a vote based on what he thinks is necessary in his district as long as that vote did not jeopardize important legislation being pushed by a majority of Democrats.

      Further, affiant sayeth not.
