All of the cuts to programs for people were wrong. Do you think Food Stamps should be cut?

when the rich pay their share and we priortize correctly none of that is necessary but to take promises made from the troops is beyond the pale.  Nobody promised  food stamps... to get miltary troops, some promises were made... NOW BROKEN.  That lies your difference.
it is like treaties... same for social security.  You obviously do not know what recruitment entails.

"repealing" the entire cr**py sequester package?

If that's what you're saying, you're spot on.

This is exactly what needs to happen.

And if the Administration would take back their threat to veto any bill to overturn the sequester--NO ONE would have to suffer.

We should insist that they nullify this ridiculous piece of legislation, hatched up by Jack Lew and Rob Nabors of the Administration, and be done with it?  No?

So, lets flood the WH and the Congress and Senate with calls, telling them "Yes, we want veteran's benefits, and BTW, how 'bout just repealing the entire sequester?"

Some liberal groups (Campaign for America's Future, Bob Borosage) have been pleading for the Administration and the Congress to do so!

Refusing to do so is simply pitting one citizen against another, while lawmakers "fleece our social insurance programs."
Look at this headline from TPMDC, March 14, 2013:
Obama To GOP: I’m Serious About Cutting The Social Safety Net

          Sahil Kapur, March 14, 2013, 7:23 AM 13105

President Obama is seeking to push Republicans to work with him on a grand deficit bargain by first assuring them he’s willing to cut entitlements, and then attempting to scrape off enough of them who will in turn agree to raise new revenues.

House Republicans emerged from a rare meeting with Obama on Wednesday afternoon saying he assured them he was serious about cutting programs like Social Security and Medicare in order to reduce the long-term deficit.

“It was a really great first step,” said Rep. Reid Ribble (R-WI). “He did express a willingness to give on entitlements.”

“He focused a lot on entitlements,” said Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL).

So, while they're meeting to strike a Grand Bargain, we're out here fighting amongst ourselves.

Which is just what they want--to keep us distracted.
