    Making the strength of our opposition known early and often has a chance of influencing the outcomes.  

    Waiting and watching until the pizza order has been placed leads only to hand-wringing in the subjunctive ("if only I'd mentioned my shrimp allergy") or having to pretend the results are the best we could get.  Plus it cements what would be a well-earned reputation for being ineffectual.

      It seems to me that will afford her plenty of time to criticize this bill very early in the process indeed.

      Condemning her for not jumping all over it before the committee even takes it up seems like overreach to me.
