No roads and lots of little cinder cones.  I' always wanted to go there and watch the stars from the rim of a little volcano.

watch the stars from the rim of a little volcano! Very nice, that, bernardpliers, and lord knows there's plenty of cinder cones in that vicinity. Go to Wupatki National Monument, just up the road from Cameron, and you'll be in a huge region with a canopy of stars and a wide, far view stretching over the Painted Desert. And there's small, medium and large cones to hike to, that is, if you head toward Sunset Crater and maybe tackle something like O'leary. It's a hoof, mind you. Still, that's something even I have never done: hike to the crater's rim and take in the night sky. I thank you for the idea! Thanks for posting your comment.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
