  •  All I ever wanted to be was a teacher, (7+ / 0-)

but our society has been determined for several years now to drive out good teachers and allow crazy people to determine what children are taught and how.

I got tired of fighting it. Maybe I'll home school my grandkids when I have some.

This seems like one more way for Republican jerks to pick on teachers and pregnant women at the same time.

When this society decides they actually want children to learn again -- real facts in real subjects -- maybe they will want me to teach again.

PS: Don't stop writing about Michigan. It's like having our own Molly Ivins writing about a state meth-lab of democracy. I try to always Rec your diaries, even when I don't have time to participate in them, because you always write about something valuable for the rest of us to know.
