    Besides the obvious impact on teachers, this medical leave policy will have serious effects on the children and families associated with the school. Being married to a teacher, I know how difficult it is under normal situations to convince him to stay home when he is sick - which involves writing sub plans that usually takes more energy than just going in. With the reduction in leave time reducing any incentive to stay home and keep your germs to yourself while you heal, I imagine the spread of illness increasing dramatically in the schools, hitting the children and their families. I would think some place as rich as Grosse Pointe would be very opposed to taking on that risk, but then again, a fool and his money...
