    •  The most interesting spot we lived was on 6th (3+ / 0-)

      between C&D. Lots of action.

      It was when we lived on 27th between 6th and 7th that there was a yearly murder or two. The LES was less violent on the part of residents, and far more violent on the part of the police than in the commercial area.

      After one 27th Street murder the cops didn't show for over an hour. Even though there was lots of valuable equipment in the businesses, and we had the annual murder or two and many weekly robberies, the area wasn't nearly as well patrolled as was the LES.

      Most of the criminals in the commercial area were white, and the businesses were relatively small, like ours. Wonder if that impacted the coverage by the patrols, yah think?
