for pulling together all of this information, maggiejean!

When I read about this a while back it was all very confusing; but I ended up feeling suspicious of the Lunnys, despite their seemingly honorable intentions—because the situation from a contractual standpoint reminded me of the farmers in the Central Valley who bought dry land with only secondary water rights many decades ago, figuring (rightly, alas) that their connections in Sacramento would guarantee them water regardless. Now that I've read this diary, I understand that this involves so much more than one family wanting special privileges... it's about the privatization and exploitation of our country's remaining wilderness.
