Retired justices can charge whatever they want, but sitting justices usually just get travel expenses. They can also have an honorarium of up to $2,000 donated to a charity. Justices do get paid for teaching, mostly during the summer, but outside earned income is limited by statute -- most who teach only get about $15-20K annually.
