after a remodeling project to get rid of extra lumber and other building materials, sure beats going to the dump.  Will check out Freecycle.

They are also a great choice for freecycling used building materials. Many of them run their own resale shops. After remodeling my bath I called Habitat and they hauled away everything ... shower doors, cabinets, lumber, extra tiles, vanity tops, plumbing fixtures, lots of functional stuff that the contractor wanted to toss in the dumpster.

The guy who picked up my stuff told me stories that were overwhelming ... people basically living in shacks trying to create functional kitchens or baths.

      I love DailyKos. ;-))
