    dedicated to fact-checking, or vetting the veracity of things like that which spread throughout the web.

    Before Julian Sanchez ever introduced us to the idea of epistemic closure, I saw in '08 Snopes debunking several anti-Obama rumors and then rolling a bunch of them into one post. I say this not to pat myself on the back, but I had a suspicion that someone was going to denigrate Snopes as liberal propaganda before I ever saw any e-rumor stating it out loud. I began to perceive in movement conservatism a demand that all its followers show not just a uniformity of thought on the talking points about issues, but a uniform intensity of hate towards their designated enemies, and a uniform stubbornness of denial about facts. It became apparent to me (and I was new at being a liberal) that movement conservatism had become too far gone as a kind of cult.

    liberal bias = failure to validate or sufficiently flatter the conservative narrative on any given subject
