  •  Hi Susan (5+ / 0-)

Yet another interesting and polished diary, chock full of good information.  The "hit" books remind me of reading Patricia Highsmith years ago.  Her character, Mr. Ripley, killed people, also, and somehow the reader is able to identify with him.

I also now have access to a guitar, an old "Martin" and I am thinking about learning to play simple melodies such as "Edelweiss."  I bought a tuner the other day, and laughed aloud when the young woman clerk offered me a "Snark," the latest trend in auto tuning guitars based on vibrations.

I have just begun Gods and Beasts by Deborah Mina and challenge anyone to read the opening scene without continuing.  I am not very far into it, but love the setting (Glasgow) and the female protagonist.

    Thanks, as usual

ordering one. At least until I can trust my ear.

Steve loved his old Martin. He had to sell it along the way but he loved to play it.

And I am now afraid to download the sample of Gods and Beasts. Hope you will think about writing a diary when you have finished it.
