    aren't they. And the whole tree is quite bushy, so pruning is unnecessary. Hemlocks - I like their pretty and delicate foliage too, but another problem, in addition to that droopiness you mention, is how fast the needles dry up and fall off. That was a short christmas tree season for us, that year.

    I gave up on xmas trees once my kids grew up and moved away. We celebrate Christmas as an extended family at my mom's place, with cousins, aunts and uncles, grandkids and all, and she has a tree. Usually the traditional Douglas fir. There are big U-Cut fields of them in south Snohomish county.
