Erskine Bowels was on NPR exalting that if Obama can "reform entitlements" he will secure his presidential legacy!
Just what will be his presidential legacy?

It is so hard to get a read on what is going on in the senate, despite the voice vote yesterday.

Both senators for Florida remain silent.

No answer from Bill Nelson on 2 emails sent.

A reponse from Marco Rubio that he will send me a response.

No answers from either of them!

        thanks for the link.

but being the guy who couldn't hold the line to protect the Democratic Party's signature achievement of the 20th century against a Republican House majority is hardly a legacy making achievement either.
        that will be it, greenbell,
the guy who could not even protect the "Democratic Party's signature achievement of the 20th century"

...an arful one, so it's sometimes hard to tell. Notice how she cut off her commentators when they caught on to her.

I don't anymore.  She has some good things to say but once campaign season starts, she is totally unreliable.  It's a real shame.   Right now she has stepped back into her grassroots left activist shoes as if she hadn't acted as an arm of the campaign for an entire year.  She is very talented and has a good voice but she spent a whole playing oppo research hack writing about "Mittens" and "Newtie" and I suspect she'll do the same thing again when the party gives the signal.

Here's the thing. There are only two kinds of people who give a damn about a presidential legacy besides the president himself: his supporters and his enemies. I think we know how President Obama's enemies feel about him, don't we? They are not going to celebrate any "achievement" no matter how much they appreciate him taking the heat for doing their dirty work. But if they are assuming that liberals want deficit reduction and entitlement "reform" as much as the centrists do, they are making a huge mistake. They do not. And it's liberals who will fight for his legacy, not centrists. Centrists are basically utilitarians who could not care less about any of that.
