  •  Well, hello, everyone (25+ / 0-)
I'm back.  I am bloody but unbowed.  And it's been interesting.  A minor but painful (and swollen! Oy!) sinus surgery turned nearly catastrophic when I collapsed getting out of bed Monday and landed face-first on a hard wooden floor. Tally: broken septum, DAMN IT, I just had surgery on the thing three days before!, some smashed-up incisions, massive swelling, and a big sore external hematoma on the left side of my head that makes my face look rectangular and gives me an eerie resemblance to John Boehner.

But.  The septum was not displaced, the incisions will heal, the swelling will go down, and my surgeon is not discouraged.  I really like him.

That fall - knowing what was coming - was about the scariest thing that ever happened to me.  Now I know what it feels like when your face is smashed.

Cheers to waiting.  Jeers to waiting.  Cheers to finally waiting for something.  I am as straight as a lead line in the dust, but I have never understood why this is an issue for anyone.  We're human, we love, we marry, end of story.

Jeers to having to clear some conditions of employment up with Mr. escapee's boss.  Between the sick winter, and now me, he's exhausted.  His personality is one that cannot rest: time off means things around the house, or gardening, laundry, whatever.  We have to resolve this or we are both going to lose - I can't even say it.

Cheers to my valiant friend Kathy, who has no only lost her husband but now withstood a shoulder replacement, and is recovering, bless her heart.

Jim is looking at her and smiling.

Cheers to Otis!  I had a dog like that once, the classic shepherd-collie mix, named Charlie.  It was startling seeing that dogface again.

And cheers to all of us, 'cause we rock!
