    Check around, and Target will match any Walmart price. Why patronize a leech that destroys communities and local economies? (Unless you don't have a choice. If that's the case, you probably have a shitty city council to blame, who fell for the "we provide jobs" bullshit.)

      I work in the supermarket industry, and one of the things I like to do is to check out the competition.  Walmart is by no means the only lower-priced game in our area -- if anything, they've upped the ante when it comes to competitive pricing.  I can think of three supermarket chains off the bat which routinely price lower than Walmart on basic items.  I don't think, though, people who regularly shop Walmart realize this; then again, perhaps Walmart is banking on the fact that they don't want to drive around from store to store the way, say, my mother did.
