    Perhaps the first step to recovering our economy is to torch all the business schools.  Clearly the MBA crowd hasn't figured out that cost effectiveness is about bang for the buck, not just the buck.

    Seriously, guys -- the best way to cut your labor costs is to get rid of all your employees.  Just have big old empty stores.

    The idea of having employees is that they HELP YOU TO MAKE MONEY!  in other words, they do something of value to you.

    That's why places like Trader Joe's and Costco can make money paying employees substantially more than the typical retail wage -- their people cause us people to come in and drop dollars.

    Personally, I still go to Wal-Mart from time to time, but only if it's a real inconvenience to do somewhere else or I need something that I can't find elsewhere.

    Now, if they'd clean the men's room on occasion -- and maybe hire at least 1 or 2 cashiers who want to do the job, maybe then I could reconsider.
