  •  How is he wrong? (9+ / 0-)

I guess because he was implying that he was the one who gets to decide what is appropriate for me to be posting on Facebook.

    •  He still wasn't wrong. (2+ / 0-)

I have unfriended many people on Facebook, because they were bigoted idiots, and I had no desire to see their hatred spewed in my newsfeed.

In my view my Facebook newsfeed, and friend list is not a democracy, I am the dictator of MichiganGirlopolis, and anyone who disagrees gets a swift defriending.

I do have many repub relatives, coworkers, former classmates, and what have you on my friend list, and we disagree about policy all the time; but I do not tolerate bigotry, or hatred.

I want nothing to do with people like that, and I don't care who they are, coworkers, relatives, doesn't matter. If you're a racist, a homophobe, a misogynist, the list goes on and on... You're losing access to my Facebook dictatorship.

Your brother-in-law may not tolerate tolerance on his facebook, and that is his right. He can remove anyone he wants from his friend list at any time of his choosing.

You have a right to say things (post on FB).
I have a right to not listen (un-friend you).

When lots of people show up to vote, Democrats tend to win.

no laws" abridging free speech. Neither Audri nor your b-i-l is the the government, I'm betting. Personal speech is defined by court cases.
