  •  Yeah, neither are we (11+ / 0-)

and for the same reason. My kidneys and his vasectomy didn't permit us to have children, and now even if he hadn't gotten a vasectomy, I'm post-menopausal. I guess committing for multiple lifetimes, making a home together, saving each others' lives (him saving mine on multiple occasions, no less), literally honoring "in sickness and in health" when I was close to dying, him losing a chance at more than an hour or two of interrupted sleep every night because he had to get up and help with my dialysis machine errors and keep air from entering my veins, shooting into my heart, and killing me quickly, maintaining strong intimacy when sex is no longer possible, sleeping on a hospital room floor rather than leave me, etc., etc., isn't enough. We have to be young enough and healthy enough or we aren't a family.

We aren't morons Mormons, either, we're Pagans, and my tradition has been marrying same-sex and opposite-sex couples for many years now, not to mention polyamorous marriages. We honor all forms of love and commitment.

Organ donors save lives! A donor's kidney gave me my life back on 02/18/11; he lives on in me. Please talk with your family about your wish to donate.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?
