No, really.  Because I'm pretty sure Satan's goal is not to make life miserable for people, but to capture their souls in Hell for eternity.  You know, burn in a lake of fire, eternal torment, that whole thing.  I suppose he tries to make people miserable because they're more susceptible to not believing in Jesus and thus by default going to him?  But that's kind of a tenuous connection anyway.

The Mormon church teaches that god wants everybody to be happy forever and the "pathway to happiness" is their gospel.

Their version of Satan wants everyone to be unhappy "like unto himself."  They don't have an actual physical hell to which souls are confined -- everyone goes to one of three "degrees of heaven."  Hell is the emotional state of being unhappy forever, knowing that if you'd only followed Jesus (and Joe Smith) that you'd have gone to a higher heaven and been happy forever.

27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
