    The marital norm, which imposes the obligations of fidelity and monogamy, Your Honor, advances the interests in responsible procreation by making it more likely that neither party, including the fertile party to that … marriage will engage in irresponsible procreative conduct outside of that marriage.
    So many things are wrong with that statement. I'm not a lawyer or even following these SCOTUS cases much beyond the headlines, but from where I sit I don't see where the anti-gay argument is. They're really hanging this on marriage = babies & fidelity? That's ridiculous.

    And show me somewhere in the Constitution, judicial precedent, or Thomas Jefferson's grocery lists that suggests that it's the government's job to try to control who has kids and how they have them?
