  •  In the end, politicians must govern (5+ / 0-)

And the Republicans still haven't learned that. They foisted Bush upon us; they keep electing people whose idea of negotiation is holding their breath until they turn deeper red.

that; their ideology is such that they think have been elected to destroy the government. (Getting rich while doing it is simply the [unstated in your comment] gravy.) It's not something they will learn, it's something they disagree with.

The learning that you spoke of, I think, needs to be done by Republican voters, not the pols they keep electing. And while that would instantly get me lambasted by conservatives as being an "elitist" POV, it is simply true, as proven by any polls ever taken regarding education levels and political leanings. (I won't equate "education" with "intelligence", but the cultural/social exposure one gets with higher education almost makes that an irrelevance anyway, imho.)

Persons with a HS diploma or less as education tend to be a very solidly Democratic demographic.

Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

            •  Hmm. I'm seeing different polling. (0+ / 0-)

See here and here for starters. Do you have links showing the opposite?
