    other fanatics in Saudi Arabia or Egypt, seeing as how none of the hijackers were from Afghanistan, where OBL was.

      that OBL was a Saudi national with a huge contact list inside Saudi Arabia, and that he was only in Afghanistan because he was an enemy of the royal family?

        and I might very well be wrong. I found it odd, though, that there was a delay before OBL came forward to say he was behind it.

        I don't think it's worth arguing, in the sense of making a case, because I don't really know. It's just that something didn't feel right at the time. Sometimes it's possible to read between the lines, like when the CIA overthrew Allende. The New York Times certainly didn't say the CIA did that but it sure felt like it...and it turned out that that is what happened.

        On the other hand, instinct is not exactly the best replacement for facts.
