    SSTF: 2.6 trillion over 20 years is how much a year?

    DO the math before you say something... thats wrong.

    130 billion a year is very affordable, especially when some of those US Treasuries are at 6-7-8% and getting rolled over at 3.2%.

      130 $B still has to come from somewhere. It is exactly as if SS payroll taxes were increased, except that funding it through income tax is progressive. I can imagine the GF paying the bonds, it will have to, and I can imagine kicking and screaming from the right. The Greenspan commission did nothing but give the wealthy a tax break and force working folks to fund the government with a very regressive tax. Now the shoe is on the other foot.
