Is it not a matter of individual freedom to arrange one's love and sex life, and one's personal family and home, as they choose so long as everyone involved are consenting adults? The issue to me is the same.

Two men and a woman, two women and a man, three guys two gals and a favorite sex doll they call "Sheba", who the hell cares? It's nobody's business but theirs.

Personal freedom is personal freedom. Non-interference in the homes and bedrooms of consenting adults is not limited to two people only.

We as progressives should be out ahead of this issue and saying "well actually you're right, these arguments do also apply to consensual adult polyamory, thank you for recognizing that there is a case to be made for their freedom and equality as well".

"Is there anybody listening? Is there anyone who sees what's going on? Read between the lines, criticize the words they're selling. Think for yourself, and feel the walls become sand beneath your feet." --Geoff Tate, Queensryche

    •  Thank you. I rather expected to get flamed (0+ / 0-)

and I just wasn't up for that.

      You're right:

Personal freedom is personal freedom. Non-interference in the homes and bedrooms of consenting adults is not limited to two people only.
But before we suggest or advocate legal recognition of group marriage, we need at least to have a suggestion for how a group should pay income tax, be covered for health insurance, and be taxed on inheritance.

We're all pretty strange one way or another; some of us just hide it better. "Normal" is a dryer setting.

...but worth answering if it means civil rights for consenting adults in their own love lives.

Maybe something like a business partnership? You can form a company with more than two partners ad be legally treated as a single entity for such purposes as taxation, legal liability, and the like. That model could probably be adapted over without too much trouble.
