    day?

How much of the calendar shall be "off limits"?

income gains to the top 1% from 2009 to 2011 were 121% of all income increases. How did that happen? Incomes to the bottom 99% fell by 0.4%

the point in the Christian calendar when minds are preoccupied.

Basically, even without the Holy Week moniker and the importance of the days on the spiritual calendar, the psychological effect of that focus would make it the least likely time to get a decent reception for even completely unbiased fact-checked 'have you realized what your hierarchy is doing?' correction.

It's also THE time of the year when the evangelical persecution complex peaks, because of the same effect. It's the one time a lot of churches discuss the martyrdom concept at all, if they ever do.

Better to save it 'til Monday.

because of it's cultural importance (not simply religious), but that's just an individual assessment.  I think these are matters of judgement.  There is a difference between "high holy days" and other days of commemoration.

BTW: we have the same thing in a secular version.  It's probably not very productive or respectful to start a discussion that's critical of vetrans on Memorial Day, for example.

In my industry we call this kind of thing "cultural awareness" and yes, there are people who try to teach it to the lunkheads of the world who want to proclaim this is just pansy-waisted moddlecoddling designed to spend waste more money and make regular 'Merikans feel insecure.
