  •  One of the reasons that I really hate, (28+ / 0-)

and I do mean to use the word hate, people like Joe Scarborough and Fred Hiatt and the late David Broder is the ugly way they want bad outcomes to happen that they can then use to get their noxious policy ponies in place.

I'm sorry if this offends anybody, but I spent the entire "fiscal cliff" fight watching millionaires really, really want it to be an instant karma disaster and I secretly wished that they would all unexpectedly lose everything. It's not supposed to happen to them. It's supposed to happen to the Little People. Us. The shit-kicking serfs and peons who watch and read them opine from Olympus.

Nothing would make poverty a bigger, more pressing issue in America than Peggy Noonan and Luke Russert running into Sally Quinn and David Gregory in a fucking breadline. Foodstamps would be a sacred right if the Villagers suddenly needed them.

I can't count the number of deficit scold Op/Eds and Very Serious Person lectures on basic cable about how x, y, and z will lead to a huge inflationary nightmare and behind their stern looks and very serious tones... they actually want that. They want inflation to explode, a budgetary crisis that threatens the economy, empty shelves in the stores.

Because that's how they get people to sign off on doing whatever it is they want. No matter how awful or painful it is.

They hate Paul Krugman because he's a liberal, yes, but they also hate him because he sees who they really are, and is rightly disgusted by them and their justly rejected idiot ideas, and he has the gaul, the nerve, to say so.

I am from the Elizabeth Warren and Darcy Burner wing of the Democratic Party
