Republicans ran on Dems cutting Medicare.  What was the outcome of that election for Dems in the House?  I await your skillful snark on that one.

The sequester is the new Republican immigration reform plan. Make things so bad here in the US that no one will want to live here.

    •  HOUSE DEMOCRATS GOT MORE VOTES IN THE HOUSE! (0+ / 0-)

House Democrats got more votes than House Republicans, in the 2012 election!

And not only that, Romney targeted Barack Obama with that Obama cut Medicare campaign and guess what? Obama won!

      You were saying????

2012?  I know, it doesn't prove your point.

        •  Repubs still control the House, right? (0+ / 0-)

That's one thing we know that happened. We just don't know whether fear of Dems selling them out on SocSec and Medicare led to that outcome.

          •  They control the house due to gerrymandering, (0+ / 0-)

because they lost seats to the Democrats. They did not gain any seats. Gerrymandering protected them from losing more. But here is one thing we do know. Mitt Romney and his cronies spent tens of millions of dollars campaigning on the issue that President Obama cut Medicare.

As they put it, he stole from the program, and they lost the election. I don't think any elected official has ever faced such an onslaught of concentrated dirty money focused on him through a specific issue and he nevertheless prevailed. It didn't work.
