    it seems like Orange County is really two different counties. You have West County which is spillover from LA and isn't markedly different from Downey, Norwalk, Cerritos etc.

    Then east county has a lot more newer subdivisions and seems more like North San Diego County. Most of the stereotypes in TV shows (like the OC) comes from east county.

    my theory is that in west county, while there are more democrats overall, tend to be more Scoop Jackson dems.
    In east county, while fewer dems overall, the dems tend to be more of the "green" variety.
