  •  really, they're clueless? (0+ / 0-)

the powers that be at Fox have people talking non-stop about them, even people who hate them -- for instance, everyone commenting in this thread, thinking they're jabbing the hell out of Rupert Murdoch every time they say FAUX news. OH MAN: "FAUX!" IT LOOKS LIKE THE WORD "FOX," BUT IT ACTUALLY MEANS FAKE! I bet Roger Ailes' head will get that much closer to exploding every time he comes across this brilliant jab on Dailykos. Well guess what? SUCK IT Roger Ailes, get used to the brilliant double-entendre.

Anyhow, guess what: Fox may not be the ratings giant they used to be, but they're still raking in money hand over fist. You think their anchors act this ignorantly by accident? Do you think they don't know what they're doing? It's a business model catering to a specific demographic, and you all are getting trolled so hard by it that it's unbelievable. This is to say nothing of the fact that Carrey's "brilliant" bit of satire was the type of sophomoric tripe I'd expect from either a Hollywood has-been who's been out of the game so long that he is unable to conjure up a reference from this century OR a high school student with a video camera and a couple hours to kill on a Saturday. Either way, take your pick. Embarrassing on all counts.

A:  I don't find Carrey's video that funny at all.  Typical stuff, pretty silly, decent impersonation . . .

B:  I am well aware that Fox News is dedicated to presenting a particular world view and nothing they say or do is by accident.

C:  I am under no illusion that anything any of us say or do causes Fox News any grief or prompts them to self reflection.

None of the above preclude me from saying their attempt to denigrate a silly FunnyorDie video is lame or from saying their arguments against it are specious.

They know they are spewing bullshit to the masses, I know they know they are spewing bullshit to the masses.

I can still think their particular choice of bullshit is stupid.  Even if what they are saying is deliberately moronic, I can still think they are morons.

In some cases, like the above, it's particularly moronic.  Just because it's cynical and on purpose doesn't mean it's not moronic.

Oh, and D:  Aim that ire somewhere else.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. Barack Obama
