  •  the whole situation is screwed up (0+ / 0-)

the banks should never have been allowed to grow to the size they did nor to the level of dependence that they did

That's on the GOP and what happened while the sky was falling was just as bad but at a certain point the past is the past and we need to move on.

And I think expecting anything less then a slow but steady change is unrealistic.

    •  As I recall, Bill Clinton signed the 'Financial (0+ / 0-)

Services Modernization Act' [The Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act] into law in 1999 which effectively repealed the Glass–Steagall Act.  The Democrats are definitely players in this theater.

I'm not going to just blindly and mindlessly agree with you on that

sorry but that's just how it is as I view it

        •  You prefer negligence? (0+ / 0-)
unless you have evidence of malice
If you're warned of something and you do it anyway; that's evidence of willful negligence which can be found to be a criminal act. If you know what you're doing can cause harm and you do it anyway, that rises to gross negligence, again this can be found to be a criminal act.  Actual malice is not required.

          •  I think on the whole (0+ / 0-)

our basic assumptions are too different because frankly I don't see how any of that applies to this situation
