  •  Enjoy your Easter meal (8+ / 0-)

    It sounds very tasty!

And try to let go of a little bit of that stress. You want to be as refreshed as possible for the week ahead. Unwind a bit, if you can!

    •  Well, that video (5+ / 0-)

is disturbing in a hilarious kind of way!!!

The meal was amazing and wonderful conversation.  Anyone who ignores their elders miss a hell of a lot.

We are getting more toward non-uncomfortable cold weather!!!!!  Looking forward to finding out what is growing in your yard.  My buddy is at the lake cottage -- he had Easter dinner with his family there.  He raked out all the gardens and said the bulbs were coming up heartily; the crocuses were out (we already saw the snowdrops a few weeks ago) and the old (80 yo) iris I transplanted last year are coming up.  I think they are the maroon and cream colored ones.

We moved two butterfly bushes that survived.  Frigging yucca that we tried to dig up now has 8 new plants.  Poison ivy is everywhere and we won't use chemicals on it. Now I have to get time to start some seeds indoors.

      •  It's amazing how hardy some perennials are (1+ / 0-)

In my mother's family's old garden, there were irises that had not been tended in 30 years that were still going strong.  I dug around in my yard a bit to try to figure out what's out there...so far I see crocus, daffodils (or jonquils? can't tell yet), tulips (I think), what might be grape hyacinth, and something else that's just starting to poke up through the mossy ground on the shady side of the yard; no clue what that is.

I know there's a lilac tree (no idea which color yet) in the back, a giant pink rosebush next to the garage, and a pinkish/purple rhododendron of epic proportions on the front lawn. I think the tree on the front lawn is a big overgrown crab apple of some kind but I'm not sure about that, either. I missed all the spring flowers last year; all I saw were the roses and a couple of yellow lilies and purple something-or-others next to them, and lots of hosta and moss.
