    Ending a friendship is painful even when it's the other person who has brought it to that point.

    You've written beautifully and from the heart. I fear that your friend has eyes but will not see, and ears that will not hear, truth so eloquently presented.

    I have someone I used to know on my Facebook list. I cannot in truth call her a "friend" any longer, as her apocalyptic fundamentalist Christian religious views have rendered her a stranger to me. I read her words and wonder what her God, and/or her Lord Saviour Jesus Christ, would have to say about the smug arrogance with which she assumes her place in the afterlife's Kingdom of God, or the conceit she shows by presuming to know God's will by passing judgement on those she deems insufficiently pious.

    Somehow, I think God's not gonna be amused.
