  •  Volunteer action in Milwaukee (7+ / 0-)

A group of volunteers have been spending substantial time in Milwaukee grocery stores and on street corners to raise awareness of this election and the progressive candidates. It will be interesting to see what effect this group will have on turnout.

Phone banks have been running for more than 2 weeks already so it's nice to know others have been active.  OLB is planning a Fallone bridge action on Monday, I think, but I haven't been to my email in a couple of days.

Sadly, however, I'm worried about Judge Bradley winning the Circuit Court election in Milwaukee.  She's  RWr who was appointed by Walker 4 months ago so she can run as an incumbant and her opponent, a decades long Assistant District Attorney didn't solicit union endorsement and, therefore, isn't included in phone banking efforts by the unions.  I have, however, put in a kindly word on my own for the lady with the long Polish name starting with a P who is running against Bradley, but letting folks know it's my own personal recommendation and not from the organization I'm calling for.

I've made contributions to Fallone and Evers, Wisconsin United, and more, and hope so intensely that a strong beam of sanity will come out in this election.

Bradley is a stream of effluent in my book . . . "right to work" indeed.

Janet P. has indeed been endorsed by the Milwaukee Area Labor Council and is included in every GOTV email I've seen. Is your union different?

Also, she's holding her own as far as yard signs in the city, and I've heard a few voters on the street bring up their intention to vote for her, because of the way she prosecuted the culprits who robbed them or because she visited their church. She's running a smart, vigorous campaign. So don't give up hope!

        •  When I posted that I had been (0+ / 0-)

doing phone banking for a group more concerned with  Tony Evers re-election as State Superintendant of Schools and Fallones try to unseat Patience Roggensack.   They limited phone banks to those 2 candidates.

I will be doing work with other groups tonight and tomorrow and your post makes me very hopeful.
