    In this past November election there was a state-wide ballot initiative to take redistricting out of the hands of the legislature.

    It failed 64-37. That means quite a number of Democrats voted no.

    While it was over-shadowed by the Obama-Romney race and a Senate race it was probably the best chance to have made a change.

    Mid-term turnout in Ohio for Democrats generally isn't anywhere near what happens in a Presidential election. Actually the mid-terms have been largely where Republicans have made all their gains in state legislatures across the country for the past two decades as Democratic turnout is sorely lacking in those years.
