Any candidate that hits the "sweet-spot" with the electorate is going to be torn to pieces by their base and never make it out of their primaries. Especially now since they seem to be doubling down on their demands that candidates tow the ultra-right wing line. Their test for a RINO is anyone that's not spewing the kind of thing you hear on Beck or Limbaugh. The harder the money wing of their party wants to push someone, the more they dig in their heels clamoring for a "true conservative."

The ones that are crazy enough to make it past their primaries makes people shy away from the entire party. That's where our advantage is. Keep hanging the lunatic stuff they come up with around the necks of all of them. They can't shy away from it since the base will turn on them if they do.

They're clearly not dead yet. But they're wounded and they are doing little to stop the bleeding.

but it would be foolish, I think, to count on another crop of Todd Akin senatorial candidates. The big money boys aren't going to be blindsided again. And the corporate media is never going to explain the realities of public policy alternatives to the electorate. Bullshit is still very effective.

I saw this somewhere, but don't remember who said it.

A lie is not the other side of the story, it's just a lie.
Our media seems incapable of calling out BS. They treat it as valid opinion.

And many insurgent candidates, like Christine O'Donnell, won despite a significant spending disadvantage.  We'll get more Todd Akins.
