    Oh goodness no.
    If my husband died and my DIC was not there the next month I would be homeless.  What are they saying?  This should not even be adjudicated.. They know they are not sending any more checks to the vet.   What are they saying and how are you living?

      stating that they have my claim and that they will get to it.

      I am in better financial shape than most who must rely on DIC, so I have not pressed the VA, knowing of the huge backlog. There are others who need it more while I have a modest income from other sources, SS, and savings.

      But DIC is not automatic, and you should keep that in mind with your financial planning. I had to wait for the death certificate to file and now wait for the VA to process. Since I did not receive my 60 day letter next month, I will have to take some action, if only to make sure the file has not gone astray.
