sizzzzlerz. . .for naming the upper 2/3rds layers of the Grand Canyon's rocks. Well, the major formations. In a soundtrack I recorded years ago, my own composition, one of the four singing ballads was all about geology (which, by the way, was the only reason the NPS approved the recording and paved the way selling it at the canyon. Anyway, "Canyon Carving," the song, had a verse with all the canyon formation names from rim to river. . .and try singing that at about 120 on the metronome scale, a blue-grass punch behind same. (If anyone in the DKos community can tell me how to embed a song from iTunes, which is where I presently have this entire recording stored, as well as a similar program on Yellowstone, let me know. Y'all can sing along (if you can). Anyway, to finish Teddy's quote. . .In the Grand Canyon, Arizona has a natural wonder which is in kind absolutely unparalleled throughout the rest of the world. I want to ask you to keep this great wonder of nature as it now is. I hope you will not have a building of any kind, not a summer cottage, a hotel or anything else, to mar the wonderful grandeur, the sublimity, the great loneliness and beauty of the canyon. Leave it as it is. You cannot improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it. None have said it better since he said those words.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
