Iowa may not be the most exciting place on Earth, but the people are friendly and trustworthy generally. Despite its purple-ish tinge of late, I think it has more of a progressive identity at its core. As it should, considering its blue collar history. ... But didn't the Justices that ruled in favor of M= get recalled? Or at least a strong effort in that direction?

but yes, there was a huge effort to "target" them. Heck a few US Reps might have lost their seats over this issue.

Oh being "born and raised" on the Mississipi. In A Confederacy of Dunces, well Walker Percy explains there is a kinship of folks that live on/around it that is hard to explain.

The rest who voted for it are up for recall now.

if not red district. The Tea Party put up this bizarre dude against the Democrat in my Congressional district, and he got pounded into the ground. Well it was closer than it should have been, but he still lost 53 to 47.

I kid you not he called the Democrat weak on defense. Almost a traitor. The guy he said this of, well he was a two star General and ran the Illinois Nation Guard.

Oh the single largest employer in my district and voting block is a military base.

Ok, only 3 of 7 were recalled

Three judges were recalled in 2010 after the National Organization for Marriage and other groups waged a campaign against them. The final three judges who joined the ruling will face a retention vote in 2016.
The Chief Justice won a retention vote in November.

The really cool thing, that I had forgotten, is that the decision was unanimous

Bob Vander Plaats, the leader of the Iowans For Freedom committee, had vowed to remove Wiggins because he joined six other justices in the unanimous ruling for same-sex marriage in 2009
