Theocratic Republic of North Carolina.  I agree with all commenters above who believe this is blatantly unconstitutional.  Constitutionality hasn't stopped these reactionary racists from trying this in many parts of the country including my own home state of Pennsylvania.  They continue to push legislation to eliminate access to abortion, birth control, and sex education.  They want creationism taught in public schools and public funding of religiously affiliated schools.  This sounds suspiciously like an American taliban.  The only difference is they are promoting an evangelical Christian fundamentalism instead of an islamic caliphate.

kittens and cows if you told them that, though. Or if you told them that sharia has its roots in the same places as their 'Judeo-Christian' law, and is quite similar in its principles and its practices.

similar the things they're doing to the very things they rail against in other countries that they're perfectly willing to invade if we allow them the power.  Of course for them to recognize the irony they would have to acknowledge history which is almost as demonized as science in their ideology.  I can't believe how many of our so called "leaders" are living in this alternate reality.
