  •  So you're going to resort to innuendo. (7+ / 0-)

Instead of actually backing up your accusations.

Perhaps you should qualify that with "Some People Say" since that seems to be what you're relying on here.

What you are doing here is accusing a group of people who you refuse to identify, except as being Pro-Gun Control, as directly accusing other members of direct insults.

That's something you should take up with the Admin instead of playing games about "I don't do that... buuut some people say..."

I don't blame Christians. I blame Stupid. Which sadly is a much more popular religion these days.

    •  Innuendo? Let's review (0+ / 0-)
We've had daily accusations that DK members have white supremacist sympathizers, that DK members remind them of the Connecticut school shooter, and that DK members are black helicopter conspiracy nuts
      Nope, not seeing it

comments of that nature, and I read the gun threads a fair amount. The middle one is especially odd.

That was in the book review about the AZ Minutemen that killed a child in the home invasion so (someone) had to opine how much these neonazi child killers reminded him of DK members, then proceeded to elaborate they were "carrying" guns and "packing heat" (on a daily basis) because they had absorbed "Doomsday Prepper"/NRA paranoia about the end of the world literally at any moment ("SHTF").  If you want to read stuff like that, you generally have to go to racist right wing sites for genocide porn.  Questioned on this point, the commentrr could offer no examples of DK members carrying concealed weapons because they expect the world to end in the next hour.

The more I read from the conceal carry/open carry crowd, the more I wonder how that feeling continues to infect so much of the gun crowd.
When I read comments here on Daily Kos from those who regularly carry weapons about being "prepared if the shit hits the fan," I have to wonder what kind scenarios must be playing out in there heads.

This kind of fear-induced, paranoid belief is stoked by the NRA. In fact, some of the writing I have seen here is a direct echo of the Wayne LaPierre fear formulation about the horrendous and frightening world that takes place after natural disasters, for example.

The fact that Forde was able to combine this kind of "end times" vision with fear of the "other," is just a further extension of what has been playing out in the gun culture for the last couple of decades when the place of guns on society has transitioned from hunting and varmint elimination to "self-defense."

The development of the language of fear has been the only way for gun manufacturers to ratchet up sales as hunting has declined in an increasingly urban population.

Now, we get even a number of folks here who paint this doom scenarios as their very reason for packing heat.

If the Aryans step in to save the gun, will they be the salvation RkBAers have been hoping for?

        •  Black Helicopter Paranoid CT Loons (0+ / 0-)

This person trolled at least 4 diaries in 2 days with identical statements, so I was actually pretty mean to him.

I prefer not to converse with paranoid CT loons, so I will stop now.

Hope the black helicopters don't get your guns.
