    Oh look, a Pew poll.

How does 1994 compare with today?

no matter how many times it's debunked. like in the diary itself. but thank you for being a case study.

      •  "Debunked"? (0+ / 0-)

Do you have a long term poll that I am unaware of?
Because they all show the same trend.....a 20 year increase in support of gun rights & a 20 year erosion of support for gun control.

But,  with you no amount of factual data or reasoned arguments will penetrate. as with most dogmatic faiths.

        Keep the faith, brother!!

As fgor yourself, it doesn't take a mind reader. All you have to do is read your posts, whoch get nastier the more you lose on the issue. And you are losing, pretty badly. Your analysis about what is going on in the country is simply wrong. Things have changed since Newtown.

Today, CT will thankfully join CO and NY, with MD to come in terms of stricter gun responsibilty laws.

The public wants background checks. Politicans cannot resist 90% public sentiment, and that you don't acknowledge it doesn;t make it any less true.

In any case, good luck with your attitude.

          •  So....your answer is 'No'. (0+ / 0-)

            Got it.

As you don't have anything for long-term polls, lets move on to more recent trends:
A CBS News survey released earlier this week indicated a 10-point drop in the public backing of stricter gun laws, from 57% to 47%

CNN/ORC International survey indicated a nine-point drop in the percentage of Americans who favor major restrictions on guns or an outright ban on gun ownership, from 52% following the shootings to 43%.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.

i get tired of debunking your endless spam talking points. mb addresses your concerns about the cbs poll in this very diary. as i did just a day or two ago. but as i said, some are impervious. enjoy your tropes. and your losing. and good luck with your attitude.

              •  "CBS poll" (0+ / 0-)

You mean the one that mirrors the CNN poll?
                That one?

                "your losing"
Oh? How's that AWB working out?
                Long term trends?
                Recent trends?
                .....repealing the 2nd Amendment? (lol)

Apparently those are all 'debunked' by your opinion-barfing.

                Drats.

            •  This is not a subject about which 10 point shifts (0+ / 0-)

              overnight hold much credibility.
The polls reflect the aggressive push back by the NRA and its efforts to hype its narrative.
And of course the NRA is sending out trolls to hype the narrative and pour cold water on the determination of its opponents.

There is a definite change since Newtown. The number and public profile of people who are sick and tired of the NRA crazy has risen dramatically.

The narrative has only begun to change. We're only just now getting started. Polls do not really matter right now. This is a long term battle, and it will end with this collective gun obsession will be a subject for history.
All guns will not be confiscated.
The rights of law abiding citizens will not be infringed.
The obsession with guns created by the gun industry will cease, and so will most of the carnage.

You can't make this stuff up.
