Wing's a rather good friend of mine. The gnarl he's had to weather since doing the "right thing" is appalling if you didn't already know that's how it works in this country. I wasn't including his, because his is one I'd cite on my defense. Don't fall prey to the ridiculous idea that nobody nuclear understood that contaminates travel in plumes. Of course they did. That's just not what the public was told.

So long as you didn't know any of that, and they told you it was your 'fear' of iodine-131 that caused your thyroid cancer (as opposed to your exposure to enough iodine-131 to get cancer) that caused your cancer.

Don't jump to the conclusion that this would necessarily be figured out as a scam by most intelligent people.

Sorry for being a grump today! Your diary was really excellent.

If Wing has gone through some crap for telling the truth, it certainly hasn't kept him from writing some really excellent stuff. The NIH database is full of peer-reviewed work from him on radiation and health.

What kind of gnarl has he had to deal with because of his work?

Eureka has the highest thyroid cancer rate in the nation or something similar, it was enough for me as we almost bought a house there, downwind from an early 50/60's nuke decommissioned in Humboldt Bay. there is a continuing local CT/rumor of 'lost fuel rods' and
