    besides the pollution accruing in places like China (as I linked above, but also in Indonesia, Mongolia, and South Africa, which I didn't but it is easy enough to Google.  .).

    Of course, these types of incidents are going to occur for any industrial activity, so when all things are considered - and I'm sure I'm going to slammed for being callous - this is no big deal.

    The bigger picture is that the anti-nuke purists really have no desire to sit down and rationally account the fatalities from each form of energy.

    And to take that idea to the extreme, even coal-fired electrical generation provides an overall benefit to society (if anyone doesn't believe that, I'll be happy to elaborate . . )
