    Now or while he was in office. I remember him for his failed policy of ending aid to children living in poverty (AFDC) and his failed policy of free trade. But more than anything, I remember him as the one who set the pattern of running to the middle instead of leading from the truth, which has become a hazard for Democratic politicians.

    I suspect Obama looks up to Clinton. But there's not much of a legacy if the long-term results of your efforts fail.

      the truth"  -- Excellent line!  Succinct, well-stated, and unfortunately for the vast majority of working people, seniors, and the poor, all too damn true.

      Is it courageous to propose tax cuts but not identify a single tax expenditure to rein in? Is it courageous to target your deepest cuts on the poorest Americans, who vote in lower numbers and provide little in campaign contributions?
