    be no better than Social Security and Medicare.  Period.

    They have to live on what the rest of the country gets.

    Of course, since most of them are already millionaires, that might be a pointless exercise.  

    Still, if they are serious about the deficit, they can cut their own benefits down to what the average American gets.  Since they can actually afford it, there is no reason not to do so.
